In this work a set of some cyclic peroxy ketals were tested for their antimalarial activities. Quantitative structure activity relationship (QSAR) analysis was applied to 20 organic compounds of the above mentioned derivatives using Physicochemical, informational and 2D-autocorelation parameters and modeled their antimalarial activity (logIC 50) values. The multiple regression analysis clearly indicates that 5 BIC, 1 IC, MATS4v and ST parameters yielded the best model having R 2 value of 0.9515. The predictive powers of the models were explained using LOO (Leave-One-Out) Cross validation procedure. The results are also discussed on the basis of ridge regression.
Industrial waste is one of the most essential sources of contamination in the environment. Chromium (Cr) is a toxic heavy metal, a major contaminant in tannery wastes and its accumulation in soil and water is a major environmental concern today. In the present study, an attempt was made and investigated the status of different beneficial microbes particularly plant growth promoting rhizobacteria (PGPR) from tannery sludge samples collected from tannery effluent treatment plant at Dindugal, Tamil Nadu, India. Experiments were conducted and evaluated their chromium heavy metal tolerance abilities and plant growth promoting activities under in-vitro. Based on molecular analysis, the PGPRs were identified as Achromobacter xylosoxidans (LK391696), Azotobacter vinelandii (LK391702) and. The production of IAA was found to be high by Achromobacter xylosoxidans (46μg/ml) followed by Azospirillum lipoferum (30μg/ml). Phosphate solublization activity was also found to be positive in all these PGPR isolates. Significance of these results revealed that there is a possibility of using these potential PGPRs for bioremediation of chromium contaminated sites and also as good plant growth promoter.
Purpose: With an increase in updated technologies use of Fintech services have also been increased. Intention to use of Fintech services largely depend upon attitude of individuals towards adoption of these services. Drawing upon the Technology Innovation Model (TAM) theory this paper observes different factors associated with customer’s attitude towards acceptance of fintech facilities provided by banks that in turn affect intent about usage of these services. The features like Supposed Utility, Apparent Comfort for Usage, Supposed Peril, Trust Factor, Administration Sustenance, Consumer Innovativeness, Attitudes in the direction of Acceptance, Intent in the direction of Adoption are used in this study. Methodology: The data was collected from residents of Delhi using a survey method through online mode. A well-structured questionnaire was circulated among customers with the help of employees of each branch by using the online platform WeChat. Also, Questionnaire was circulated among customers with the help of employees of each branch who gave them proper instructions to fill the questionnaire. It was circulated through WeChat. To inspect the strength of the association amid factors, , Confirmatory Factory Analysis (CFA) and regression path analysis were applied using SEM in AMOS software. Findings: The findings revealed that Government Support is a key predictive variable for the adoption of Fintech services. Whereas Perceived Ease of Use and Perceived Risk are not significantly supported the attitude towards adoption of Fintech services. While other factors slightly supported attitude towards adoption. Practical Implications: The findings of this article are useful for banks to provide empirical framework for customers to adopt new, user-centered fintech services. Originality/Value: This article in useful for the banking institutions, Government agencies and insurance companies provide empirical framework for customers to adopt new, user-centered fintech services.
Menstruation is a normal physiological impact on each girl’s life. Menstruation is monthly uterine bleeding for 3-5 days after every 28 days from puberty till menopause. A change in mood, behaviour, appearance of some abnormal vague symptoms is often noticed in the second half of the cycle. Symptoms are severe enough to disturb the life cycle of a woman called premenstrual syndrome (PMS). The study aimed to assess the premenstrual symptoms and coping strategies among adolescent girls. The majority of the students suffered from premenstrual syndrome. Objective: to assess the premenstrual symptoms and coping strategies among adolescent girls. Methodology: A nonexperimental descriptive research design was adopted in this study. Non probability convenient sampling technique was used to select the sample size of 30 adolescent girls. The assessment of premenstrual symptoms and coping strategies was carried out using a self-reported Likert’s rating scale. Data was analyzed by using descriptive and inferential statistics. Result: Majority (93.3%) of the samples sometimes had physiological and psychological problems, 90% of them had behavioural symptoms. Majority (43.3%) of the samples always followed coping strategies and 16.7% of the samples sometimes followed coping strategies and 40% never followed any coping strategies. Conclusion: PMS was common among students at 18-24 years. The most common physical symptoms experienced by adolescent girls were headache, backache and lower abdominal pain. Adolescent girls used coping strategies as taking hot / cold drinks, do not express anger to others, and turn to study and forget things, hearing music and taking medications. Abstract Background. Numerous studies have found that various core muscles are involved in subjects with chronic low back pain. The evidence for profiles of respiratory muscle involvement in normal low backache subjects has not been reviewed explicitly for low back pain. Aims. The study’s primary objective was to scientifically analyze, condense, and to evaluate the evidence for the involvement of respiratory muscles in subjects suffering from chronic low back pain. Methods. This evaluation procedure will trail the guidelines of PRISMA and MOOSE. The assessors will use a custombuilt tool to extract data from the studies, regardless of the methodology used. A modified Downs and Black index will be used to assess the superiority of the methods used in the selected studies. Results. This index evaluates the characteristics of the subjects, the timing of the outcomes, and the characteristics of the interventions, and quantitative, formal analysis, so-called meta-analysis, is performed if necessary. The study’s effect, including the evidence, will be determined using the GRADE a framework for a systematic approach. Earlier research has found that core muscles are involved, and the interventions are tailored to include deficiencies and intrusions that target specific muscle groups. Conclusion. As an additional component that can be targeted by clinical practitioners in their day-to-day practice and added to rehab programmes, this systematic review protocol will summarise the list of evidence available for the rehabilitation of low back ache and highlight the involvement of respiratory muscles in lowback ache subjects. Emesis encompasses the forceful expulsion of the stomach's contents via the mouth or sometimes the nose. The adverse effects of currently available anti-emetic agents potentiate the natural product researchers to explore natural anti-emetics with fewer side effects. The presented communication reviews the anti-emetic effect of two hundred and forty-five plants belonging to seventy-eight families in different parts of the world. It also outlined the anti-emetic effect of plant extracts and isolated secondary metabolites studied through a variety of animal models of emesis. The reported anti-emetic plants in different countries and cultures and the scientific studies on extracts may help in the identification of promising single chemical compound(s) that may be used as potential leads for developing safe anti-emetic agents in future. Moreover, the reported secondary metabolites having the same effect may open the door for the search for the same secondary metabolites from other natural sources. This review will provide useful information for discovering natural anti-emetic compounds and fill the gaps in knowledge.
Background: Measurement of patient health status, or quality of life, has become an important end-point in clinical studies as it represents in part the patient perception of their outcome of care. The objective of this study was to evaluate the effects of systemic dexmedetomidine on intraoperative hemodynamics, postoperative quality of recovery and analgesia. Materials and Methods: 90 subjects posted for elective lower abdominal surgeries under general anesthesia were randomized to receive infusion of dexmedetomidine (1 mcg/kg over 15 minutes followed by a 0.06 mcg/kg/h infusion until the end surgery) (Group 1) or Normal saline (10 ml over 15 minutes followed by infusion @1ml/kg/hr till end of surgery) (Group 2). Intraoperative hemodynamics, extubation variables, postoperative analgesic requirement and quality of recovery score were evaluated. Results: Intraoperative infusion of dexmedetomidine resulted in maintained hemodynamics, achieving early extubation parameters. Time for first postoperative analgesic requirement was increased while total analgesic requirement was decreased with use of dexmedetomidine. Median QoR-40 score was better with the use of dexmedetomidine compared to control group. Conclusion: Use of Intraoperative infusion of dexmedetomidine was associated with early recovery, decreased postoperative analgesic requirement better Quality of Recovery score signifying greater patient satisfaction. Cleome scaposa DC. has long been used in traditional herbal medicine for the treatment of pain and inflammation. The present investigation is an attempt to evaluate the antiemetic, analgesic and anti-inflammatory activities of Cleome scaposa leaves methanolic extract by using the chick emesis model (oral treatment), analgesia meter test (intraperitoneal treatment) in rats and carrageenan-induced rat paw oedema (oral treatment) respectively. The antiemetic activity (150 mg/kg b.w. of extract) was carried out by using chlorpromazine (150mg/kg) as a standard antiemetic drug. The analgesic activity (250 mg/kg b.w., of extract) was performed by using diclofenac sodium (50mg/kg) as a standard analgesic drug whereas, anti-inflammatory activity (500mg/kg b.w., of extract) was done and indomethacin (10mg/kg) was taken as a standard anti-inflammatory drug. The results showed significant antiemetic, analgesic and anti-inflammatory effects.
The aim of the paper is to evaluate the association of organic farming to strengthen the sustainability of organic agriculture. Organic agriculture shows abundant benefits, as it reduces many of the environmental impacts of conventional agriculture, it can increase efficiency in small farmers’ fields, and it reduces reliance on costly external inputs, and guarantees price premiums for organic products. Organic farmers also profit from farmer cooperative and the formation of social networks, which enhances good access to instruction, credit and welfare services. The % age elemental composition (ash, crude fat, crude protein, moisture and total carbohydrates) was determined in the Macrotyloma uniflorum (Lam.) Verdc., Phaseolus lunatus Linn., and Phaseolus vulgaris Linn., legume flours. M. uniflorum contained moisture (8.9), ash (3.34), crude fat (1.30), crude protein (18.15) and total carbohydrate (68.31). Similarly, moisture (9.14), ash (3.73), crude fat (1.78), crude protein (22.64) and total carbohydrate (62.71) were estimated in P. lunatus. Meanwhile, P. vulgaris contained moisture (9.43), ash (3.61), crude fat (3.49), crude protein (19.46) and total carbohydrate (64.01). The gross, ash free, moisture and ash free calorific values were also determined. P. vulgaris showed the highest(3.91) and P. lunatus lowest (3.84), whereas M. uniflorum (3.86) caloric values (kcal/g), respectively. The elemental composition and caloric values of tested legume flours justify them as good sources of nutrition and energy.
The main focus of this paper is to examine the relationship between insecurity in Nigeria and how traditional institutions such as traditional monarchical system can be used as veritable tool to curtail increasing insecurity in a democratic system such as Nigeria. The pervasive nature of insecurity,though,not an entirely Nigerian problem, has been trending of late, andhence, become a huge source of worry for scholars,experts,public commentators and the international community at large.The menace of insecurity finds expression in wanton killings, kidnapping,farmers-herders conflicts, rape, communal clashes, militia activities, ethnic secessionist agitations and many other strands of violence. The multiplier effects of all these challenges have been very devastating in terms of the recent attacks witnessed all over the country in recent times. This study observes that most of the people engaged in some of these atrocities might be well known to traditional rulers in the communities where they come from. This is because traditional rulers are closest to the people. The work is an exploratory study and relies solely on literature and works of experts in the broader field of security studies for investigation. The paper sums up a conclusion and recommends that there is a need for the adoption of both vertical and horizontal approaches to tackle the menace of insecurity, particularly, using the instrumentality of traditional institutions as a point of departure.
The 2019 coronavirus disease (COVID-19) was declared by the World Health Organization as a pandemic on 11th March, 2020 which spread rapidly all over the world. COVID-19 disease has different clinical presentations, ranging from asymptomatic to severe symptoms. Laboratory findings are important in determining which therapeutic strategies to seek and to identify severe cases initially. In this study, we compared the results of C-reactive protein, D-dimer, blood electrolytes and mean corpuscular hemoglobin concentration between survivors and non-survivors of 22 Libyan patients with COVID-19 present in the intensive care unit at Maitika Isolation Center (Tripoli, Libya) in the period of January to June 2021. We could not detect any significant difference in C-reactive protein between survivors and non-survivors but a significant difference in D-dimer level was observed. Non-survivor COVID-19 patients have a higher level of D-dimer. Moreover, a statistical significant difference in chloride and sodium levels but not in potassium level were detected. A marked lower of mean corpuscular hemoglobin in non-survivor than survivor COVID-19 patients was shown. Thus, these parameters could act as biomarkers for COVID-19 patients.

This is a study on the growth of public relations in Malaysia based on the advertisements placed in the newspapers during the colonial period. Tracing the historical development serves to make a better understanding about the nature of public relations practice. This paper therefore aims at exploring the development of the public relations profession by studying the advertisements placed in the nationwide newspapers, the Straits Times and the Singapore Free Press & Mercantile Advertiser from 1939 which included the early advertisement that contained the phrase “public relations” to 1956 a year before the independence of the Federation of Malaysia. An analysis of the advertisements was made to fully understand the historical development of public relations in Malaya or then Malaysia. The very first advertisement that was identified was on 31 January 1948, which was placed by the Department of Public Relations of the federal government. The British colonial government had placed another four advertisements in 1949 and 1950. A British mining Co. was the first corporation to hire an information & public relations officer in 1956. The results showed some differences and similarities through the analyses of advertisements in the job specification, which included qualification, duties, and salaries. The results revealed that those who had higher education and experience obtained a higher salary. The results also showed that some advertisers companies/ organizations had substituted academic qualifications for working experience) when advertising for their public relations personnel.

The goal of Green AI is to transform conventional communication systems by utilising sophisticated algorithms, dynamic optimisation, and intelligent decision-making techniques. Higher energy efficiency, less of an impact on the environment, and better network performance are the main goals. The present study examines the fundamental elements of the Green AI architecture, encompassing intelligent routing, dynamic power management, and adaptive power distribution of resources. Furthermore, case studies and simulations highlight the real advantages of incorporating machine learning into communication networks, highlighting the technology’s potential to make a substantial contribution to a future that is more environmentally friendly and sustainable. The Green AI Revolution is a paradigm shift in the way we think about and use communication technology. It encourages innovation that is in line with environmental stewardship and technical progress.
Smartphones are constantly changing in today's world, and as a result, security has become a major concern. Security is a vital aspect of human life, and in a world where security is lacking, it becomes a concern for mobile users' safety. Malware is one of the most serious security risks to smartphones. Mobile malware attacks are becoming more sophisticated and widespread. Malware authors consider the open-source Android platform to be their preferred target as it came to lead the market. State-of-the-art mobile malware detection solutions in the literature use a variety of metrics and models, making cross-comparison difficult. In this paper various existing methods are compared and a significant effort is made to briefly address android malwares, various methods for detecting android malwares and to give a clear image of the progress of the android platform and various malware detection classifiers.
Les études sur la langue française la présente souvent dans des situations où elle est en contact avec les langues africaines. Elle co-apparait avec les langues africaines dans les discours romanesques. Cette co-apparition n’est pas sans conséquences pour les deux langues en contact. Certains linguistes, surtout les sociolinguistes et les didacticiens, parlent d’insécurité linguistique. Ils la lient à toutes les situations linguistiques où deux langues entrent en contact. Ngamassu (2007, p.94) dit dans ce sens que « toute situation de contact des langues est source d’insécurité linguistique, car aucun locuteur/scripteur ne peut maîtriser toutes les variétés ou niveaux d’une langue ». Cette affirmation restreint l’insécurité au locuteur ou au scripteur. Les linguistes ignorent souvent l’impact négatif du contact des langues et s’intéressent à ses conséquences positives. Cet article a porté sur les manifestations de l’insécurité linguistique dans la prose romanesque de Kourouma et Badaman. Il a permis de voir que l’usage des langues maternelles dans le français constituait une menace de disparition et d’abâtardissement de la langue française.
In childhood, epilepsy is the most common globally widespread neurological problem, usually with serious consequences for this most critical period of development. Dravet and Lennox Gastaut syndromes are two forms of rare and severe treatment resistant epilepsies that occur early in the life. These resistant epilepsies recognised by continuous unrelenting seizures of many types including the occurrence of status epilepticus. In addition, it is associated with the development of behavioural, neurological, cognitive deficits and the sequelae of increased risk of mortality rate. Historically, cannabis was found to possess several medical benefits including its use for epilepsy. In this review, information and data were extracted from 99 references using PubMed and Google Scholar (November, 2021). Data with clinical evidence on cannabidiol regarding its efficacy on Dravet syndrome and Lennox Gastaut syndrome, mechanism of action, safety, pharmacokinetic properties and interactions with anti-epileptic medications were all reviewed and discussed. Highly purified cannabidiol is a cannabis derived compound that is suggested in recent research as an add-on therapy to the existing treatment of both resistant epileptic types; since it is able to reduce the duration, frequency and severity of seizure disorders. It is also characterised with multiple signalling transduction mechanisms, primarily via inhibition of excitatory and potentiation of inhibitory pathways.

The past few decades have witnessed several attempts to establish renowned medical journals in the Republic of Yemen. Some of these initiatives were successful but fell short of the researchers’ expectations, because they failed to meet international standards of scholarly writing in the medical field. Recently, the civil war has dashed any hopes of launching such a journal from within the country. We believe that this is the right time to establish a new peer-reviewed medical journal of high standards which meet the expectations of all Yemeni researchers across the board, from both within and outside the country. As a result of enormous efforts, discussions, and extensive collaboration, we have now been able to finalize the structure and content of the Yemen Journal of Medicine (YJM). Files
Objective As technology continues to improve, it plays an increasingly vital role in the practice of medicine. This study aimed to assess the feasibility of the implementation of virtual reality (VR) in a rheumatology clinic as a platform to administer guided meditation and biofeedback as a means of reducing chronic pain. Methods Twenty participants were recruited from a rheumatology clinic. These participants included adults with physician-diagnosed autoimmune disorders who were on a stable regimen of medication and had a score of at least 5 on the pain Visual Analog Scale (VAS) for a minimum of 4 days during the prior 30 days. VAS, part of most composite outcome measurements in rheumatology, is an instrument used to assess pain that consists of a straight line with the endpoints ranging from “no pain at all” and “pain as bad as it could be.” Patients were randomized into two groups that differed in the order in which they experienced the two VR modules. One module consisted of a guided meditation (GM) environment, whereas the other module consisted of a respiratory biofeedback (BFD) environment. Data on pain and anxiety levels were gathered before, during, and after the two modules. Results The three most common diagnoses among participants were rheumatoid arthiritis (RA), lupus, and fibromyalgia. There was a significant reduction in VAS scores after BFD and GM (P values = 0.01 and 0.04, respectively). There was a significant reduction in Facial Anxiety Scale after the GM compared with the BFD (P values = 0.02 and 0.08, respectively). Conclusion This novel study demonstrated that VR could be a feasible solution for the management of pain and anxiety in rheumatology patients. Further trials with varying treatment exposures and durations are required to solidify the viability of VR as a treatment option in rheumatology clinics
